Bar-fed production

Bar-fed.
Live-tooled. Overnight.

Our production lathes run magazine-type bar feeders, part catchers, and conveyor belts for unattended runs. Load a bar, set the program, walk away. The machine feeds stock, machines parts, catches finished pieces, and drops them in the bin.

How we run it

From billet to
finished part.

Our production lathes come with bar feeders, part catchers, and live tooling as standard. The machine feeds its own stock, machines the part, and deposits it ready for inspection. Your program runs the same at part one as at part ten thousand.

01
Live tooling — one setup

Cross-drill a hole, mill a flat, cut a slot, thread a port — all on the lathe in one chucking. Fewer setups means fewer datum shifts and fewer opportunities for error on turned components with milled features.

02
Magazine bar feeders, overnight

The machine loads its own stock between parts. Cycle time is the same at part one as at part one thousand — consistent cost per part regardless of shift, no night-shift staffing required.

03
Gentle part catchers

Finished parts are caught and conveyed to a collection bin — not dropped into a chip conveyor. Particularly important for thin-walled medical components and tight-tolerance turned parts where surface damage is a rejection.
